I sat in a waiting room yesterday for several hours. I hadn’t charged my phone and iPod fully. The iPod was first to go while I was reading a book in the Stanza library app and checking email intermittently. I had to go there in a hurry so I didn’t grab my bag with the AC/DC kit. I know…cardinal EDC rule broken. I have one Energizer xPal battery. I need another one to keep in my pack. Of course this will increase the weight but there were no outlets in sight.
Because given the right cocktail of circumstances, the same thing could happen here.
Despite the glowing BS about the economy in the news, many of those who lost jobs during the plummet of 2008 are still out of work.
There were protests in Iran after the last “election” and then the ayatollah declared an end to them.
We’re living longer but not very well. All our young lives we take in the poison. It starts with sugar-laden cereals followed by creme filled thingamabobs. Burgers with beef from dubious and faraway sources. Vegetable shortenings and hydrogenated grease that are less healthy for you than fatback. So after a lifetime of processed gunk the co-morbities set in and we have to start taking the antidote.
We should be dead.
And were it not for a badly functioning antidote in the form of pills and doctor visits and copays and drug formularies and insurance premiums we would be. I have watched this in the lives of family, friends and self and it sickens me the state we’ve all come to. Better that we had joined Socrates in the hemlock and been treated with brandy and spirits of ammonia. At least that would have been an honest poison. Instead we follow parents and grandparents in embracing a sedentary lifestyle heavily encouraged by a mainstream media whose only concern is the advertiser’s dollar. And those advertisers are forever busy collecting your dollars.
So what’s the solution?
Do whatever you can to change your diet. Eat as much unprocessed foods as possible. Make a goal of getting off one of your medications if it is possible to do. If not, improve your health to be able to safely reduce the dose as much as possible. Fewer trips to the doctor and the pharmacy lower the amount of money moving in that economy. This “malimentation” healthcare system is not about health, yours or anyone else’s. It is about some people’s wealth.
You could say we’re going through this right now. Societies riddled with oppressive regimes, wars of dubious necessity, pandemic diseases, declining standards of living. Everywhere you look there seems to be more law and less freedom. The aliens have been watching. And when they decide the people have been chewed enough they descend with all sorts of gimmicks and gadgets, fancy fertilizers, healings, teachings, etc. They’re everything a public that has been ridden long and hard wants. They promise to make it all go away. And it does. Or it seems to. Trouble is, you’re not buying it. And neither are a lot of people. You go to work and the people who were goofing off on the internet arcade game sites are constantly on the mothership’s website. Eventually your indifference to the new benefactors gets noticed. You get questioned as to why you’re not “down with” new arrivals are doing for the people. The aliens are suddenly at the center of sheep consciousness. So when the talk starts up about registering everyone so they can make sure we all get the help we need or whatever the trumped up excuse is, you’re one of the folks who doesn’t show up at the center.
I decided a few days ago to change the direction of this blog. I’ve had some significant things happen to me personally and I see clearly that I have to create a brand and a business out of my online endeavors. Developing brand is not easy and especially to do so in a sustainable way. I made some money a few years ago writing ad posts on a blog and things looked good for a while until “The Googler” showed up and took away my page rank. I won’t attempt to do that here and I really don’t want the content on this blog drowning in ad widgets. So I’ll be working on better ways to bring in money.
In order to make this blog worth a few bucks a month to folks who are willing and able to invest there has to be a much clearer mission and focus to it. We’ll be looking at alien survival from two points of view. The first is where the aliens come or are already here and our task is surviving them. The second is where the alien lands and has to use survival skills to escape notice, fit in, etc.
There are eight alien roles that I want us to focus on to begin with. I’ll be doing this more ore less weekly with a plan on moving it to a daily focus. I’m basing this list on movies I’ve seen and books I’ve read. If you can think of any other, feel free to contact me:
- Alien Messiah
- Alien Conqueror
- Alien Experimenter/Scientist
- Alien as Friendly Visitor
- Aliens at war with Earth as a base
- Aliens at war and Earth is in the way
- Aliens as God/Creator
As we approach these our assumption is that it has already happened and our task is to survive and help those around us to survive. Survive means being alive, awake, free, fed, hydrated and healthy.
I’ll do product reviews and keep you posted on other things that are going on.
I have an Adidas sling backpack for my EDC bag. I have a lot of stuff loaded in it and quite a bit of that I am not using. The problem I ran into last night was having to remove stuff to get out what I needed at the time. Right now I have everything loaded in there according to the teardrop shape of the pack and having to pull six things out to get to one is not exactly useful. So I’ll be going through everything and most likely looking for a better bag.
I found this on the DailySteals.com website a couple of weeks ago for $1.99. I have seen them on eBay for around $12. It’s no longer listed on the toollogic.com site. It holds about 7-8 bills. I did some maintenance on my glasses using the screwdriver. It features a red LED with a momentary switch so I was not able to keep it on while taking the shots. Overall it has its uses.
